Welcome Letter
Dear Families:
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our Preschool classroom. We are very excited to meet all of you and share all the wonderful activities we have planned for the school year. Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 6th. For the AM Session, the start time is 9:00 AM and end time is 11:30 AM. For the PM Session, the start time is 12:50 PM and the end time is 3:20 PM. If your child is taking the bus, the bus driver will reach out to you to let you know the pick up and drop off times.
Let us begin by sharing some valuable information regarding the education of your children. For many of you, this is the first time your child will be away from you. While in school, your children will engage in many different activities which will allow them to develop skills such as building self-esteem, working independently and problem solving. The materials and activities used are carefully thought out and culturally relevant. Some examples of the materials used are music, paints and markers. Play is encouraged in the classroom and should also be encouraged at home. Children will be provided with space, time, materials, support and respect during their play experiences. Providing a safe environment is the first step in promoting learning.
Learning is a joint effort. When looking for materials to use at home to promote positive play, focus on objects that will hold your child’s interest and that are versatile. Please feel free to email or call with any questions or concerns. We look forward to a great year with all of your children.
Sincerely,
Kristina Cusmano
